![]() I don't have anything againts the games that are written under not considering. ![]() DCSS, CDDA, Brogue, Doom RL, Jupiter Hell, Nethack, Cogmind, Rift Wizard, Zorbus, Caves of Qud, AngbandĮDIT: Just to clarify again ~ after reading several similiar comments about it and some replies getting downwoted for whatever reason ~.Games that i am not considering (Tried some of these briefly and watched reviews/videos for the rest, atleast for now i won't consider these) Rogue Empire (Same as above, also read some mixed reviews about it)ĭeath Road to Canada (Probably doesn't count as a roguelike, peaked my interest nonetheless, tho looked like it could get repetetive quick if those random events are not varied enough)ĭungeons of Dredmor (Unsure about this due its theme and ' not too serious ' nature, but could still give it a go if it fits on my other preferences) Golden Krone Hotel (Again looks quite decent, just don't know if it has mouse control) Also couldn't figure out wheter it has mouse movement control or not) Tangledeep (Looks good and charming visually, read there is no auto explore so i don't know if moving arround would feel like a slog after a while. I think Dungeons of Dreadmor and Dungeonmans fall into this category.ĪDOM (Tried its free version's tutorial for an hour, had a positive first impression, it felt a tad slower with those extra mechanics like hunger, door kicks, getting blinded and what not, also had fewer encounters compared to ToME so far, tho i don't know it would feel later on) Not too big on meme-y and joke heavy ones. Don't want keyboard only controls.ĭon't have any theme preference, could be fantasy scifi or whatever. Would like to have mouse control for movement, maybe keyboard as an extra (Like in ToME where you can move with both WASD and mouse). For example, from several videos i've watched Caves of Qud looks absolutely ugly and hard to read to me (Please don't stab me for saying this). ToME is a perfect example of how far down i can handle, i don't particularly like how it looks but i don't mind it either. I don't mind graphics too much, however that ASCII (i think its called that) type of graphics are not for me, atleast for now. It feels like an arpg game at times (like diablo), which is fine and probably on higher difficulties and with certain classes the game might play/feel slower but i would like to choose next game/s that got slower baseline gameplay. However, i've been playing it in 2-3 hours sessions and after each session i felt exhausted, due way too much of clicking/auto explore and the amount of normal mob fights and such. I quite like it, will definetely play it for a good while and eager to try out some other roguelikes. Got into roguelike genre with ToME some days ago, 20 something hours in. And would appreciate if i could get thoughts about the games that i consider and let me know if any of these fit my preferences. And at some point i will re/consider the others. These should keep me occupied for a while.Īlso have these games as noted, to check them out later on when i want more roguelikes Elona, Stoneshard, Shiren, Rogue Empire (since no one said anything about this one, i will check this one out later). ![]() (Added Rogue Fable 3 into the list aswell)įrom the ones that i wasn't considering ~ alongside with Rift Wizard ~ i decided to give Brogue another go. ![]() I ended up wishlisting these games and gonna grab atleast few of them on next discount sessions: Golden Krone Hotel, Tangledeep, Shattered Pixel Dungeon and Rift Wizard.
